Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, has a fictitious character named Nezuko Kamado. It is only Nezuko and her brother Tanjiro who have survived an attack by demons that killed their whole family. Nezuko has been changed into a demon, yet displays human emotions and thoughts.
Following an encounter with the Hashira Giyu Tomioka, Tanjiro sets out on a journey to aid his sister in regaining her human form so that he can exact revenge on the people who killed his family.
Mangaka Koyoharu Gotouge created Nezuko’s character to make the main character Tanjiro Kamado more unique. Nezuko had a great reception from critics because of how unusual it was for a character of her sort to be a demon and how she developed her fighting abilities throughout the course of the series. She’s also appeared in one issue of Weekly Playboy as a popular character.
The mangaka Koyoharu Gotouge invented the character of Nezuko in order to make the protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado, stand out. Being unable to hate the demons he faces because of Nezuko’s demon nature places Tanjiro in an ethical gray area between right and wrong. With this, the author’s editor and other aides attributed a novel tale that quickly drew in the audience.
Yuma Takahashi, the show’s producer, noted that while Nezuko has remained quiet since the first episode, the team has been able to fine-tune her facial expressions and humanize her further. These benefits help to elucidate the character’s motivations and motivational arcs.
Takahashi stated that he wanted people to look forward to Nezuko’s growth and the vast variety of emotions she may display in her character development and storyline. Kamado Tanjiro no Uta is the name of a song that plays throughout the credits. It shows Tanjiro’s tenacity as he rises from the depths of sorrow to defend his little sister.
In the studio, Akari Kito (the Japanese voice of Nezuko) says Natsuki Hanae (the actor who plays Tanjiro) is like a big brother to her. Hanae stays and waits for her to complete the recording even though his role is over.
Kit’s younger sister, Hanae, agreed with Hanae’s assessment. “A kind, compassionate sister to her many brothers,” even when she transforms into a demon, Trott describes Nezuko in the English dub. When Nezuko showed this act of generosity, Trot felt it to be relevant.
